How to play Spelling Bee

Spelling Bee is accessible on the NYT Games mobile app or  the newspaper’s website.

Players are tasked with spelling as many words as possible using the provided grid of letters. There are a few rules to follow:

  • Words must contain at least 4 letters.
  • Words must include the center letter.
  • The word list does not include words that are obscure, hyphenated, or proper nouns.
  • No cussing either, sorry.
  • Letters can be used more than once.

Four-letter words are worth one point, and you get an extra point for each additional letter in the word. Each puzzle always includes a pangram, or a word that contains every letter on the board.

Today’s Spelling Bee uses the following letters, starting with the must-use center letter: N, L, U, O, A, C, and K.

Apex Legends is introducing a new battle pass, and fans aren’t happy

Respawn Entertainment announced a big change coming to Apex Legends Season 22: a new battle pass system. The developer says that this will "improve" the player's experience and progression, but many fans are either confused or angry about the changes.

All the tweaks are expanded upon in a blog post, but the highlight is that there will now be two battle passes per season instead of one. All other updates are based on this one change. For instance, the level cap to get the final track item has been reduced from 110 to 60.

Xbox Series S 1TB -- starting at $349, was $380

The Xbox Series S is the less powerful but cheaper option out of the newest generation Xbox line. When comparing the Xbox Series S versus the Xbox Series X, the Series S takes a hit in all the component categories. That means it's not quite as fast. But if you're not hung up on getting the optimal performance out of your system, you'll actually notice very few differences. The two biggest ones are the Series S's inability to play in 8K, and its lack of a disc drive. Most people don't even have 8K TVs, so that shouldn't be an issue. If you're alright with downloading all of your games straight to the console's memory (and you have a separate DVD or Blu-Ray player), the Series S will work fine. It's quite a bit smaller anyway, and easier to fit on a shelf.
